I take your safety very seriously. The following information will help you understand the steps I take to ensure your safety. Please read this before choosing online or face-to-face counselling with me. If you have any questions or if you disagree with any information here please let me know.
I will not pass on any information from our sessions to any other person. In rare circumstances, I may have to contact someone who can provide more immediate support for you. This would only happen if:

Your name and personal information is not passed on to any other person for any other reason. I will regularly discuss your issues anonymously with a fully trained supervisor to make sure I am doing my best to support you and seek any necessary advice. All notes and/or email exchanges with you or my supervisor are password-protected with the latest firewalls and internet security measures.
I also ask you not to share my name or any content of counselling emails via internet or social media like Facebook, blogs or Twitter.
Copies of your emails are saved and stored securely. This is a requirement with my counselling awarding body, the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). It also helps me work more effectively with people who require long term counselling. Any personal information will be destroyed according to recent GDPR regulations and BACP guidelines.
