What is E-counselling?

This works a lot like traditional counselling because you will have one guaranteed time slot each week to hear from a counsellor. However, you do not have to go anywhere to meet me! You can read my reply from your own comfort zone whenever it suits you. You can also write to me as many times as you like each week. I will always respond once per week at our agreed time after reading anything you've written to me.

Another really positive aspect of this type of counselling is that you'll have time to think about what you want to write - so you can really work at your own pace. Also, you'll be able to look back at previous messages so you can track your progress and start to see patterns in your thinking and behaviour. In a way, it similar to journal writing but with the added advantage of a trained counsellor who can help support you through any difficult emotions that might arise.

I am a qualified and experienced counsellor who will not judge you. I will provide a supportive and private space for you to explore your situation and find the best way forward for your unique circumstance. It is important to remember, however, that I cannot offer a crises service. If you have an emergency or feel at any point that you are in danger please contact one of the services below:

How can I start e-counselling?

Email me at [email protected] to let me know you're interested in counselling. I'll get back to you within 48 hours. In the meantime, you may wish to read my advice on E-counselling Safety and ensure you're emailing in the most secure way possible.

Once I've received your email, I'll send you an online form  to complete and return. Please don’t worry about this as it is easy to fill in and only used to find out how I can best help you. It will not be shared with anyone else. At any point you can ask questions or stop the process of counselling. The first session is free and any additional sessions are £25 payable in advance.
